Computerized Digital Radiographic Examination

Digital radiography (DR) is becoming very common in equine veterinary clinics.  A DR system captures information/images digitally on a special plate instead of the traditional cassettes, which requires a film to be developed manually in chemicals.  The plate saves the information, which is then transferred into a computer where the images are stored like any computer file, and can be viewed on a computer screen, transmitted electronically, or printed out on paper or film.  The technology provides excellent images in areas previously difficult to obtain optimal images.
